"Overwatch" recently received its Sombra DLC and it is now available for gamers. Blizzard Entertainment announced the released of the new hero on Nov. 15. It is likely that more characters are going to be added in the game as mentioned by lead designers Scott Mercer and Aaron Keller.
At the recent BlizzCon event in California, Mirror UK was able to talk with Keller and Mercer, the designers behind the creation of "Overwatch" characters and maps. During the interview, the two stated that more heroes are on the way and these will be arriving via DLCs.
"We're doing that pretty constantly, and not just with Sombra but we also have another set of hero changes that we're currently testing on the PTR," Mercer said. He added that some of the heroes they tested so far are not fun enough or useful enough to be in the game, so they are continuously working on them.
In "Overwatch," Sombra is a hacker who has the ability to teleport. She uses her translocator to lob through the region and wields a powerful, fully-automatic machine pistol.
Moreover, Sombra's specialty in "Overwatch" is hacking. She can hack opponents to prevent them from using their abilities or render their first aid kits useless. EMP (Ultimate): Sombra discharges electromagnetic energy in a wide radius, destroying enemy barriers and shields and hacking all opponents caught in the blast.
At any rate, the Sombra DLC is just one of the features of "Overwatch" November patch notes. Aside from the hero downloadable content, there are also game fixes, new modes, map and balance changes included in the update. Below are two major additions or improvements in the game:
The Arcade
Gamers will discover new ways of playing "Overwatch" in the arcade mode. Whether it is 1v1 or 3v3 brawls, there is a wide range of selection of duels and regulations including the advantageous "no hero switching" rule.
New Maps
"Overwatch" introduces new map called the Ecopoint: Antarctica. This is a snow-covered base station where Mei was put in cryostasis for a long time. This map is compact and intended for small-scale battles only.
Meanwhile, "Overwatch" is set to have its free play weekend on Nov. 18 until Nov. 21. For the duration of the free play, fans are free to play in various modes including weekly brawl, quick play and custom games. In addition, they can also enjoy access to 22 heroes and 13 maps.
