"Pokemon Sun and Moon" players who used unofficial or pirated copies of the game will not be able to play the game, as announced by Nintendo. Unofficial copies of the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" was distributed through online forums like 4Chan earlier this month.
"The Pokemon Sun and Moon" unofficial versions were gained the same entry as the authentic copies of the game according to Kotaku. The pirate players were also able to connect with each other and perform game activities like Pokemon Battles.
The Nintendo eShop was also unavailable in their Nintendo 3DS when some pirate players were trying to connect. GBA Temp and 4Chan were reporting that there were not able to make some purchases or redownload "already-owned tittles" of thier "Pokemon Sun and Moon".
"As a result of a number of Nintendo 3DS users using unauthorized versions of several games, and connecting to the official game servers in violation of our terms of service," said Nintendo in an official statement regarding unofficial users of "Pokemon Sun and Moon". "These users' Nintendo 3DS systems that stored the unauthorized game code have been banned from Nintendo's online network effective immediately," the announcement stated further.
Despite the warning, "The Pokemon Sun and Moon" unofficial players are still trying to how create a workaround for the ban. Other players suggest buying original Nintendo 3DS version and pulling out the information from the banned account and inserting it to the authentic one.
The pirated copy players are also planning to return the original system to the Nintendo 3DS retailer after the extraction procedure to the authentic "Pokemon Sun and Moon" game. Players were also reported to call Nintendo's customer service phone lines regarding the piracy bans.
For those players who wants to avoid the ban, the authentic version of "Pokemon Sun and Moon" will be available on November 18, 2016. There are still no details on how long will the ban take in place to the unofficial users of the "Pokemon Sun and Moon".
