With "Jurassic World" being one of the biggest films of 2015, the production team is definitely taking advantage of its lingering popularity and is reported to begin the production of "Jurassic World 2" on March next year for a June 2018 release.
Thanks to the huge fan base of the "Jurassic Park" franchise, the fourth installment was an instant blockbuster hit when it was released last year. While it was not critically received well, "Jurassic World" earned more than enough to call for a sequel, "Jurassic World 2." However, fans are still looking for a third, fourth, and even a fifth installment.
As there are no other movie franchises in Hollywood that capture the essence of dinosaurs better than the "Jurassic Park" and "Jurassic World" universe, a sequel (or even five) would be fitting. Director Juan Antonio Bayona had reassured the fans that "Jurassic World 2" will indeed be a worthy fifth installment to the franchise, according to a report from Game Zone.
Bayona, along with Universal Studios, had promised that "Jurassic World 2" will deliver what the fans are really longing to see-more connections with the original "Jurassic Park" franchise. The second "Jurassic World" title would also be opening up a plot line for a possible third sequel. The interesting and exciting part is that "Jurassic World 2" will bring audiences to new and unexpected places.
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard would both be returning to reprise their roles as Owen Grady and Gale Dearing in "Jurassic World 2." New additions to the cast include Toby Jones, known for his role in "Captain America: The First Avenger," and Rafe Spall, known for his role in "Hot Fuzz."
"Jurassic World" was set 22 years after the events of the latest "Jurassic Park" movie. It was then produced 20 years after the last one, and earned $1.67 Billion worldwide. There have been no confirmed plots yet for "Jurassic World 2," but it is hinted to be darker and scarier than the previous installments.
