Gong Yoo is known for the movie Train to Busan and the Korean Television Series The Coffee Prince. Goblin is the upcoming Korean televesion series of tvN (Total Variety Network). Gong Yoo is the star of the long awaited drama Goblin who plays as the mystical goblin named Kim Shun who wants to end his immortality.
The recent movie, Train to Busan was a blockbuster hit internationally. Inspite of his age, Gong Yoo is still one of the most charming and handsome Korean stars out there. The actor will be working with actress, Kim Go Eun - who plays for Ji Eun Tak - will be the bride of the Goblin. The only way to end his immortality is to marry a human bride, but will Kim Shin regret his decision after he falls in love with the optimistic high school girl.
Gong Yoo said he was thankful to the writer Kim Eun Sook for her "generosity". "She and director liked my lines as soon as I spoke out," Gong Yoo recalling the script-reading session. "And I told her, the compliments were posing pressure somehow"
"She was so generous that she tolerated whatever I did," Gong Yoo added. This is not the first time the scriptwriter Kim, who earned stardom with "Descendants of the Sun," has praised Gong.
"I have always been looking forward to (working with) the actor," Kim said in an interview after Gong was cast in "Goblin". "I had a chance to talk with him, and my impression of him was, he is so decent an actor." according to an interview from KpopHerald.
In the trailer it seems that it will be a dramatic and cruel love story between the immortal goblin and his bride. Gong Yoo said on the last few seconds of the trailer "And I was once... a human".
The debut episode of Goblin will air on December 2, 2016 on tvN at 8:00PM
