This is actually a very welcome step to take care of Twitter's valued users to fight online exploitation. It is true that we all love to follow every single personality that we like. However great Twitter is, there are really many people who use and abuse it to the point of ludicrousness.
With the new mute feature, Twitter users will be able to assemble their own list of words, phrases, and emoji that they don't want to see pop up. Del Harvey, Twitter's vice president of trust and safety, said during an interview with The Washington Post.
