Amazon Germany had a listing (since deleted) that suggests Mirror's Edge 2 is on its way for the Xbox 360 with a hefty price of €99.99 which translates to about $129. But is this true? Is it a pending announcement that has been leaked, or is it a simply a mistake?
The listing can only be found on Amazon Germany, it does not show up on the American Amazon site. EA has yet to make a statement regarding the listing on Amazon Germany, or if Mirror's Edge 2 is actually in development.
Mirror's Edge is an exciting, fast-paced game in which you get the opportunity to do some hardcore parkour while running from the law, so it's no wonder it resonates with gamers. In the first-person action game, you play a character by the name of Faith, a courier who is being chased and must transmit important information without getting caught, or falling off a building or skyscraper to her imminent death. While it garnered critical attention sales were less than ideal and ever since a tiny, but vocal, minority has been asking DICE, who developed the game, for another one.
"It is general knowledge in the Stockholm dev scene that Mirror's Edge 2 is in production at DICE," is the last comment made by Ben Cousins (former executive producer on the Battlefiend franchise) regarding the game's sequel. Mirror's Edge was first released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2008, and was released for PC the following year.
The game is now also available for iOS and Windows phones. But the question still remains unanswered: Is Mirror's Edge 2 really happening? And if so, why would it leak through Amazon Germany, which isn't known for listing games early? That in itself seems strange.
