A mainstay from the original 3D fighter Virtua Fighter is headed to Team Ninja's newest "ultimate" addition of Dead or Alive, and it's none other than spikey haired racer Jackie Bryant.
Jackie will be the fourth Virtua Fighter character to appear in a Dead or Alive game, after fellow polygon pugilists Akira Yuki, younger brother Sarah, and Pai Chan debuted in the original Dead or Alive 5.
Fellow ninja and Ayame's brother Ein, who hasn't been seen in the series since Dead or Alive: Dimensions, will also appear in Ultimate. Ein and Jackie will appear alongside Ninja Gaiden's Momiji, the first character to be officially announced for the game.
The Ultimate version of Dead or Alive 5, arriving later this year, will include the characters Ein and Jacky Bryant, from the Dead or Alive series and Virtua Fighter respectively, in addition to the previously announced Ninja Gaiden character Momiji.
Fighting with Bruce Lee's famed Jeet Kune Do style, Jackie should make for an interesting match against Jann Lee, who utilizes the same fighting style. A teaser showing mercenary Leon in a desert indicated he might return as well. The Sambo expert hasn't been seen since Dead or Alive 3.
The characters all come together on September 5 in Japan and should be available around the same time for western countries, in both digital and retail releases. We'll keep you posted if Team Ninja announces any additional characters for this fighter.
