"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is making its debut in cinemas this week and while fans are already excited to see the prequel to the "Harry Potter" series, there are already rumors surrounding the sequel, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2." Author J.K. Rowling and Warner Bros. are already collaborating on ideas as to where the story would go next. At the same time, rumors about what fans can expect from the sequel have already made the rounds.
Snitchseeker first reported about the supposed timeline of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2." The website reported that the sequel will take place days or immediately after the events of the upcoming movie, as shared by "Harry Potter" production designer, Stuart Craig. It will also take the protagonist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) in Paris and the movie will reportedly be set in the same year, in 1926.
However, J.K. Rowling finally addressed the details on the report and posted on Twitter that the timeline is incorrect. "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2" will not be pick up where it left off. At this point, it remains to be seen when the sequel will take place, but it has been confirmed that Newt will go to Paris but for reasons that are not clear.
It is also presumed that Eddie Redmayne's Newt will meet the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald along his travels, CinemaBlend reported. It has already been confirmed that "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales'" Johnny Depp will play Grindelwald, Albus Dumbledore's former friend. On the other hand, the casting process for a younger Dumbledore is also ongoing. Grindelwald's story in the books was touched only briefly but his role in the "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2" will be big.
"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2" is slated to release sometime in 2018. More details of the sequel should be released soon. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more updates.
