Last October, Tim Miller dropped out of the Fox's "Deadpool 2" project. Reports say that the falling out was due to the creative differences between him and star/producer Ryan Reynolds. Reynolds and Miller had conflicting ideas about "Deadpool 2" causing the director to leave the post.
The two worked together on the blockbuster hit "Deadpool" which was released last February. According to Box Office Mojo, the movie had a budget of $58 million but made $782 million worldwide. Unfortunately, we're not seeing the Miller-Reynolds tandem in "Deadpool 2."
Ryan Reynolds and Tim Miller were diplomatic about the incident. Reynolds even expressed that he was sad to see him leave the "Deadpool 2" film. The actor stated that nobody worked harder on the movie "Deadpool 2" than Miller.
Ryan Reynolds had a recent interview with GQ Magazine. Although no names were mentioned in some parts of the interview, it gave viewers some insights on why it didn't work out between him and Tim Miller on the production of "Deadpool 2."
In the interview, Reynolds expressed that making the movie "Deadpool" was very difficult. People in the team were the most passionate people he has worked with in his entire life. These passionate people made "Deadpool" successful. The actor hinted that there were vaguely scary fights on the post-production process. He's glad that people were mature and at the end of the day, they just continue to love each other.
Reynolds also spoke on his stance on "Deadpool 2." He explained that he knows when to exert control and when to let go. He leaves the special effects to Tim Miller since it's his strength. The actor stated that the character and the tone of things are matters he knows so well. Reynolds said that out of all the people involved with making the comics; he has been with "Deadpool" project the longest. For eleven years he's been pushing for the project and because of that, he says he will be all over it from start to finish.
Fox is still looking to replace "Deadpool 2" director Tim Miller. "John Wick's" David Leitch is reportedly the frontrunner to direct "Deadpool 2." Miller is still with Fox and will be working on the adaptation of the sci-fi novel "Influx".
The character Cable is already announced to be in "Deadpool 2." The movie is definitely hitting the big screen soon. There are even reports of "Deadpool" being a trilogy with the third installment bringing in the X-Force.
The "Deadpool 2" script was near its completion in June 2016. "Deadpool 2" was originally set to start shooting January 2017, but with the recent incidents, it won't begin until after January. The scheduled release date will be March 2018.
