"Ghost in the Shell" is an adaptation of the classic manga anime and the first trailer is released. Scarlett Johansson plays the role of The Major in the film.
According to a report in The Daily Dot, there have been a lot of controversies when Johansson was casted to play the role of The Major in "Ghost in the Shell." Despite of that, the film still is set to be released and the first trailer is being revealed.
There have been teasers about the film in the past months, but this new trailer is the first big sneak peek into the, world of The Major in "Ghost in the Shell." The original manga anime for the film was released in 1989 and it is written by Masamune Shirow.
In a report from ComingSoon.Net, "Ghost in the Shell" is directed by Rupert Sanders. Alongside Johansson is Beat Takeshi Kitano who will portray the role of Daisuke Aramaki. Other cast members include, Juliette Binoche as Dr. Ouelet and Michael Pitt who plays the role of Kuze. Additional cast members also include, Pilou Asbaek as Batou and Kaori Momoi.
"Ghost in the Shell" is a story of The Major who is a special ops cyborg. She leads the elite task force section 9 and is known to be a hybrid human cyborg. Task force section 9 is tasked to eliminate dangerous criminals. They finally encounter someone who wants to take out the advanced cyber technology at Hanka Robotics. The Major and her team face this enemy.
Meanwhile, Johansson's role in "Ghost in the Shell" has been controversial since she plays the major character that happens to be Japanese according to a report in BGR. However, Johansson did play the role well and the first trailer of the film does give out amazing visual effects for the movie.
"Ghost in the Shell" is set to be released in March 31, 2017. In the meantime, the first trailer is here.
