"The Fall" season 3 recently concluded with another cliffhanger finale that left fans wondering what comes next. It's too early to tell if the psychological thriller would get a renewal, but recent reports suggest that it's likely that season 3 is the last and there will be no "The Fall" Season 4 that will follow.
Rumors are rife that "The Fall" Season 4 has been canceled and won't happen, which got fans worried. Jamie Dornan's character, the elusive Paul Spector, has died and there were speculations that the series would end. However, despite the lead antagonist's death, it doesn't necessarily mean that the BBC Two series won't go on.
It was hinted by series creator Allan Cubitt that Spector's exit from the series won't signal the end of "The Fall," which suggests that Season 4 will likely happen. However, this could be a long wait for fans as a new series won't happen immediately. Speaking to Digital Spy, Cubitt confirmed that he already has ideas for "The Fall" Season 4 but he still has other things to focus on so fans might be in for a long wait for another story.
Cubitt also made it clear that the "Fifty Shades Darker" lead star won't be back for "The Fall" Season 4. Jamie Dornan made his last appearance in season 3 and with Cubitt's confirmation, fans of the actor were heartbroken. However, the series creator also confirmed that Dornan's exit won't mean that he won't do "The Fall" episodes in the future.
At this point, a release date for "The Fall" Season 4 has yet to be announced, but it's expected to follow Stella's (Gillian Anderson) story after her fight with Spector. Lacy Moore, who portrays Lisa Benedetto, also seemingly confirmed to the Irish Mirror that season 4 is happening because she will be in it. "It's funny because there has been so much stuff online about it being the end of The Fall," she told the publication. "All I know is I'm supposed to be back in series four - I have no idea why people are saying it's the end."
