Leaving nothing to chance before the highly anticipated next-gen Xbox reveal, Microsoft has opened an official news portal which the company claims will be the "one-stop resource" for all Xbox-related news.
Named the Xbox Wire, the website is billed as "a news blog to help you keep up with the latest Xbox news." "You will be able to follow our journey as we bring you the best in games and entertainment and along the way we'll introduce you to the people, places and technology that bring it all to life," Xbox Wire editor Lisa Gurry writes.
The news blog is currently in beta mode, the full version of which will happen alongside the reveal of the next Xbox on May 21. It is Microsoft's renewed attempt to maintain a gamer blog, which the company had once abandoned a couple of years ago. Ever since the blog's closure, game enthusiasts had to rely on Microsoft director of programming Larry Hryb's - better known as Major Nelson - website to get the latest news on games and apps coming to the Xbox 360.
"You'll see some familiar faces on Xbox Wire. Our executives will write blogs occasionally, but most of our blogs will be from everyday people on the Xbox team," Gurry said. She assured that Major Nelson will contribute to the blog as well. "Our own Major Nelson will appear as well - both via blog posts and through interviews - of course," she writes.
