It might time to say goodbye to Sherlock and Watson. The BBC drama series "Sherlock" is all set to return on January 2017. It has been a year since "The Abominable Bride" was shown, and three years since "Sherlock" Season 3 was aired. Now that Benedict Cumberbatch is all set to grace our small screens once again, recent cancellation news say that "Sherlock" Season 4 might actually be last season.
Showrunner of "Sherlock" Season 4 says that season 4 could be the last time they ever made the show, as reported by E! News. The stars of Sherlock, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, have become popular due to their movies such as "The Hobbit" franchise and "Dr. Strange". But Moffatt also says that it's a good thing that the show's nature allows them to take a few years off when shooting, making it easier for the cast and crew to schedule shooting for "Sherlock".
Reports also claim that Benedict Cumberbatch said it will take time before they produce another season of the show; could it be "Sherlock" Season 4? "I think there will be a lull," he said. "I don't think it will be in a year and a half necessarily but we will wait and see and maybe it will be."
"Sherlock" Season 4 promises exciting adventures for fans of the British-American crime drama series. People from Sherlock and Watson's past will be coming back to haunt them, and there will be tragic events that will happen in "Sherlock" Season 4.
Despite the uncertainty of "Sherlock" gracing the small screens after "Sherlock" Season 4, fans will still be faithfully waiting for sure. They are used to the show taking years of hiatus but it doesn't stop them from waiting in anticipation for the next installment of the series.
