"Shadowhunters" season 2 promises to deliver more action in darker visuals with character-drive stories. The premiere episode of the new season will bring in a war between the Shadowhunters and Downworlders against Valentine Morgenstern. The next season will also find Jace but will they be able to find him on time?
'Shadowhunters' Season 2 Finds Jace
"Shadowhunters" season 2 will start off with finding Jace (Dominic Sherwood) as a war takes hold between the Shadowhunters and Valentine Morgenstern (Alan Van Sprang), per Vine Report. The preview for the first episode of "Shadowhunters" season 2 sees Maryse Lightwood (Nicole Correia-Damude) tells the New York Institute that Valentine has the Mortal Cup.
With this, they replaced the current leader - who they have proven to be ineffective - with a new one in the name of Victor Aldertree (Nick Sagar). The new leader - a Clave representative - addressed the group and made his priority known: To find Jace. "Shadowhunters" season 2 may find Jace but the questions remains if he'd still be alive.

With the threat of a war in "Shadowhunters" season 2, Victor decides to put the institute on a temporary lockdown, trying to quarantine everyone. An interrogation then proceeds among those who went on a mission with Jace. This includes Clary Fray (Katherine McNamara), Alec Lightwood (Matthew Daddario) and Izzy Lightwood (Emeraude Toubia).
While everyone is worried about Jace, Izzy believes that Jace can handle Valentine. However, the ending scene isn't reassuring as Jace gets beaten by one of Valentine's men. Can Jace hold off until rescue comes?
The War Begins
Meanwhile, the official synopsis of "Shadowhunters" season 2 episode 1 delved deeper on the coming war. The Shadow Word will be in great turmoil as Valentine and The Circle get stronger. The Shadowhunters, on the other hand, gets betrayed by the Conclave.
