Bungie has confirmed that all the rumors making the rounds on the Internet saying that the company’s upcoming Destiny game will also be on the PS Vita are untrue.
In response to an image that was circulated recently showing a game called Destiny of Spirits (that also includes the Destiny imagery), Bungie confirmed to IGN that the image is a fake. And, as far as the old Bungie logo at the bottom of the image is concerned, Bungie states that “when we actually announce something, we’ll use our current logo."
Destiny of Spirits is actually a totally different game altogether that had been earlier trademarked by Sony, and has no relation at all to Bungie’s Destiny. However, the game started making rounds after an image with the current logo for Bungie’s Destiny hit the Web.
The image, via PSU, according to IGN, “appears to have been created in response to a trademark filed by Sony last month for Destiny of Spirits, though that title -- if it ever sees the light of day -- is owned by Sony and not affiliated with Bungie.”
Destiny, the persistent online shooter from Activision for Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4, is set for a 2014 arrival. The game will see players controlling their very own Guardians, depending on whether they opt for a Warlock, Titan or Hunter.
More details about the game are expected to arrive at this year’s E3 in June.
