We have a few more details on Wolfenstein: The New Order, the upcoming Wolfenstein title from Bethesda Softworks, via its publisher. And needless to say, there’s a lot to look forward to when the game is ready for retail.
The game’s description states that players will be sent on a special mission into the heart of the Reich to investigate evidence of the Nazi’s possession of a new and mysterious power.
While behind enemy lines, the player will discover that the Nazis have done much more than develop a new weapon, and are actually harnessing the power of a dark parallel dimension called The Veil.
“Europe, 1960. The Nazis turned the tide of the war using a new kind of mysterious, advanced technology. Using unrelenting force and intimidation, they have brought even the most powerful of nations to their knees,” the page states.
“The Nazi regime now rules the globe with an iron fist. Play as the one man who dares go up against the world’s most formidable military. You are B.J. Blazkowicz, the American war hero. You are the only man capable of rewriting history.”

The Assault – Players will experience intense first-person combat as they go up against oversized Nazi robots, massive Super Soldiers and elite shock troops. Everything rendered in stunning detail with the id Tech 5 engine.
The Action – The game’s magnificent set pieces will feature intense mountain-top car chases, underwater exploration, player-controlled Nazi war machines, and much more – all combined to create an exhilarating action-adventure experience.
The Arsenal – This is all about collecting ultra-advanced Nazi-tech. Players will break into secret research facilities and heavily guarded weapon stashes to upgrade the weapons.
The Adventure – Hi-octane action and thrilling adventure weaved together into a tightly paced, super immersive game narrative.
“Move between the Nazi’s dark reality and yours as you command an enormous arsenal of Resistance and Axis Weapons. You can also turn to the Black Market for weapon upgrades, or unleash the Nazis own dark powers and perverted science against them with supernatural weapons and Veil-enhanced firepower,” the description adds.
Wolfenstein: The New Order was recently announced for release on current-gen consoles and next generation platforms this holiday season.
