‘Final Fantasy XV’ Judgment Disc Demo & Latest Update: Japan Exclusive Demo Released; Available For Download Across Japan & Some Retail Shops

At this point, almost anyone who has every played an RPG on a console could not wait for the imminent release of "Final Fantasy XV." After releasing "Kingsglaive" to set up the fanbase for Square Enix's biggest project in a long time, the company has came up with a demo called "Final Fantasy XV Judgment Disc."

Gematsu reports that this demo will let users play from the game's opening until the middle of Episode 1 and it features around an hour to an hour and half of total play time. Once a "Final Fantasy XV" player completes the demo, he or she will get to see some bonus footage which previews the main story that is not yet available to the general public.

As this is meant to be a demo, its saved data cannot be loaded onto and continued in the full game when a player gets hold of it. For those who do not own a console that can play the new "Final Fantasy XV" demo yet, it will be available in selected stores.

Kotaku reports that "Final Fantasy XV" director Hajime Tabata has announced the demo recently, unfortunately, the demo will only be available in Japan. When asked why the demo will only be made available to Japan, he answers that demos for big games are a very big deal for that region.

This demo is a digital download and "judgment disc" actually means that "Final Fantasy XV" players can decide better after playing the demo if they really want to go for the full game. While of course this would be an effective marketing strategy, this demo is locked on easy mode and there are other game restrictions which would not be in the full game when it comes out.

As the hype for "Final Fantasy XV" is being built up, it looks like anticipating fans are in for more as Square Enix has shared new details about the game's plans for its PlayStation 4 Pro support. They plan to take advantage of the increased capabilities of the upcoming console by adding 4K and HDR support in an update that will be released when the game comes out on November 29.
