The horror thriller TV series of Netflix "Stranger Things" has new faces to add to the cast members for the second season. Paul Reiser, Linnea Berthelsen and Sean Astin are the new actors who will be added to the roster.
The series have generated a lot of buzz due to the impressive premise that the show offered during season one. There is still no announcement regarding the "Stranger Things" season 2 release date, but it is expected to be out before the third quarter of 2017. The filming of the TV series started on November 7, 2016, Monday, in Atlanta.
The three new cast members will be playing the role of Dr. Owens (Paul Reeiser), Roman (Linnea Berthelsen), and Bob Newby (Sean Astin). The main cast members from the previous season will reprise their roles for the "Stranger Things" season 2.
The first season of "Stranger Things" was released on July 15, 2016 on Netflix and gained positive reviews from the viewers. The series was set during the 1980's pop culture in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. The plot focuses on the mysterious disappearance of a boy named Will Byers. Byers' mother searched for him and the Chief of Police Jim Hopper did his own investigation. Will's friend discovered a girl with kinetic skill who claims to know the boy's location.
The report from Variety says that the "Stranger Things" season 2 will consist of nine episodes unlike the first season that only has eight episodes. The news about the second season comes hardly as a surprise, as the sci-fi horror thriller drama has become the buzziest series for the mid-year of 2016.
One of the creators, Matt Duffer says the "Stranger Things" season 2 is more than a sequel. The producer Shawn Levy said that they will continue with the regular characters, however, they will incorporate new roles for the second season.
