Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) will emerge as an even stronger superheroine now that her tormentor Kilgrave (David Tennant) is dead. However, it is expected that she will deal with several new villains in "Jessica Jones" Season 2 as teased by showrunner Melissa Rosenberg. For that, the private eye will need the support she can get.
Jessica has always received some back up from her adopted sister, Trish (Rachael Taylor). Trish was even there to accompany her in Jessica's quest to put an end to Kilgrave. Besides Trish, it's likely that Luke Cage (Mike Colter) will be back in "Jessica Jones" Season 2 to help out. It should be noted that Luke and Jessica have a romantic connection.
With Luke likely to return for "Jessica Jones" Season 2, there could be a love triangle brewing when set photos revealed that Simone Missick's Misty Knight will return. Misty appeared in the first season of "Luke Cage." She is also romantically linked to the superhero with indestructible skin. In freshly-released set photos, Misty was seen pointing a gun at a bloody-faced Jessica. Although it may appear that one is trying to take down the other, the confrontation is less likely to have something to do with love or romance.
According to Metro, Jessica's meeting with Misty could be the first time for both of them. It also appears that they may have just found each other at the wrong place and at the wrong time with law-breaking activities involved. It remains to be seen what story Misty and Jessica will bring in "Jessica Jones" Season 2. There are speculations, however, that both will end up really good friends, with Misty becoming Jessica's confidante.
Meanwhile, a release date for "Jessica Jones" Season 2 has not been confirmed yet. However, it is believed that the Marvel/Netflix series will release sometime after "Iron Fist" and "The Defenders" airs, which puts Jessica's return in 2018. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more updates!
