After the Sony Xperia XZ hit the shelves, there are already talks on the upcoming flagship from Sony Mobile, the Sony Xperia X2. News of the Sony flagship has already made the rumor mills spinning and the hype is on once again. Sony has gotten into the habit of releasing a smartphone every six months and going by the trend, it aims at keeping it that way.
The Sony Xperia X2 may not be the final name that the company will go for though tech enthusiasts feel otherwise. The naming system that Sony has adopted is quite difficult to predict. The company has also dropped its Z line of smartphones and is now concentrating exclusively on the X series.
Sony believes the X series is now the future ad it is looking to develop smartphones with the best of specs, reports Pocket-lint. There are reports that the Sony Xperia X2 would be announced at the CES 2017 scheduled to be held from Jan. 5-8 though an MWC 2017 release is more likely. The MWC 2017 will be held from Feb. 27 to March 1.
Fans are specially about the rumor that suggests that the Sony Xperia X2 could be coming with 4K video recording features and that the handset could in fact better the Xperia Z5 Premium smartphone that too sports 4K video recording capabilities. The USB Type-C ports are also expected in the Xperia X2 for faster charging and data transfer.
The Xperia Blog has listed down some possible specs and features of the Sony Xperia X2 handset and they look awesome. Apart from a powerful 3GB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, the smartphone may also boast of a 5.1-inch 1080p screen and 21MP rear/12MP front cameras.
Sony Xperia handset's camera performance has always been top-class and highly praised. It will be interesting to see what other features includes in its Sony Xperia X2 camera. The chassis of the handset could be upgraded to make it sleeker than its predecessor. A huge curved display is also expected.
