Anime fans are most probably aware of the "Neon Genesis Evangelion" and they are also anxiously waiting for the release of "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0." "Neon Genesis Evangelion," a brainchild of Hideaki Anno, was more than just a mecha series of huge robots fighting monsters and saving the world. This was one mind-twisting, conspiracy filled, emotionally powerful series that hits viewers right in their psyche; the animation makes fans question existence and reality. The mecha animation has left the fans yearning for more. To their disappoinment, the film animation has always been delayed.
When Anno announced the Rebuild of Evangelion project, fans went crazy ecstatic. The new story was divided into four full-length films. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned. Each of the films were delayed and missed the release dates, making fans anxiously wait. Four years after the release of the animation, "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0" is still nowhere near the big screens. A few fans fear that it might be cancelled.
The "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0" creator apologized to the fans to the constant delay of the film. He stated that he is truly sorry for the long wait. Anno said that he did not neglected Evangelion as it is something that describes his soul.
As Anno started working on "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0," he got into working with Toho on "Godzilla: Resurgence," which led to the speculation that Godzilla is the cause of the delay for Evangelion. On the contrary, this was the break that Anno's soul needs to continue working on Evangelion. Anno stated that there are times that he felt that he cannot keep on going but by talking with his friend, Toho, he was able to move forward. Anno subtly stated that by creating "Godzilla: Resurgence", he is able to salvage Evangelion.
The animation is delayed but it is not cancelled. While the creator did not announced a definite release date for "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0," it would be best to check out "Godzilla: Resurgence" when it hits the theaters.
