"Dishonored 2" PC players are reportedly suffering from major performance issues. For one, the frame rate drops to only to 30fps to the lowest 13fps.
"Dishonored 2" Update: Dmax3901 Claims Frame Rate Drop To 13fps
According to Crave Online, the "Dishonored 2" frame rate on PC is dropping significantly to below the 30 fps mark. Dmax3901 and other players received a review copy of "Dishonored 2" from Bethesda before its official launch in Australia. He played the game and he was unable to maintain 60 fps at 1440p with his PC. He claims that it dipped below 60 fps to 13 fps.
After experiencing the performance issue, he turned all the PC graphics settings down to very low but the result was the same. He settled at 1080p and turned off the demanding settings, including volumetric lighting and depth of field. He shared a screenshot while he was playing "Dishonored 2" at 13 fps. This shows that the texture and lighting of the game are toned down considerably. FRAPs counter also shows that "Dishonored 2" on PC is still struggling to run at a decent frame rate.
Where Costumers Come First Tech reports that players get a solid 60fps when facing the back of the throne room. This will eventually drop to 32fps after turning 180 degrees. This will drop again to 18 fps when they go back to the first door they have entered. All of these are running at 1080p.
"Dishonored 2" Update: Performance Issue Even With AMD Driver
"Dishonored 2" low frame rate continues in its certain open areas. This carries on even after performing clean uninstall and installing AMD driver. Dmax is using AMD R9 290 GPU and it may have been part of the performance issue. Bethesda recommends this driver but "Dishonored 2" debilitating issues still continue even with it.
"Dishonored 2" for PC supports NVIDIA technologies. This includes TXAA/HBAO+/Surround and Ansel. According to Geeksnack, "Dishonored 2" will be equipped with Denuvo, a third party DRM Software. This makes games hard to crack but it has also been associated with serious performance issues in the past. Players can only wait and see for the AMD driver release, 9GB one game patch and Denuvo.
