"Peaky Blinders" cast member Charlotte Riley will play a new role as Duchess of Cambridge in the BBC drama entitled "King Charles III." The TV show, which will air on BBC Two, is expected to come out next year.
Riley will join the cast of the show which includes Oliver Chris as Prince William and Tim Pigott-Smith as King Charles III. The drama series will happen at a time when King Charles declined to sign a controversial bill which causes uprising, chaos and riots.
Playing Kate Middleton
Asked about her new role, the "Peaky Blinders" actress said she is looking forward to play Kate Middleton in the upcoming BBC show. "It's such a unique project, to be both modern and rich in verse and to play someone who is real but yet totally re-imagined for this story," she added.
The actress also noted that Kate Middleton is an interesting character to play and that she considers her new role as a challenge. Riley plays the character of May Carleton in "Peaky Blinders."
On the other hand, Pigott-Smith also considers his role as King Charles III as one of the highlights of his career as an actor. He explained that he is "thrilled" that they will soon be filming the show and noted that it has great relevance in the world today.
'Peaky Blinders' Season 6 air date
"King Charles III" will be another show that Riley can add to the list of well-known TV series which she became part of. She is also expected to return next year as "Peaky Blinders" Season 6 is expected to air by October next year.
