"Mass Effect: Andromeda" was given a closer look during the N7 Day, or the unofficial "Mass Effect" holiday for Nov. 7. The long-awaited game from BioWare has confirmed through a cinematic trailer the many things expected by the fans, shootouts, an evil sounding villain and space exploration. The fans were also given a chance to have a closer look at Ryder, the male main character and one of the two twins that can be controlled.
While the "Mass Effect: Andromeda" trailer appears to be a combination of in-game and pre-rendered graphics, BioWare also confirmed that there will be more gameplay footage during The Game Awards on Dec. 1. It was previously announced that the game will be arriving in early 2017, after being delayed this year. Reports now indicate that the company is set on releasing the game sometime in the spring of 2017.
"Mass Effect: Andromeda" players are expected to take the character of the Pathfinder to lead humanity's search for a new habitat in the unforgiving and unexplored part of the space. BioWare reportedly wrote that the players could direct their own course to navigate the Andromeda galaxy in order to discover the mysteries and alien worlds, leading the charge to help the human race find a new home in one of the stars, ENGADGET reported.
Meanwhile, a new "Andromeda Initiative" video is reported to be found on the official YouTube channel of the game that provides additional details on the Andromeda journey. Based on this, it appears that there are five "Arks" that depart the Milky Way: the Nexus, the Hyperion and three more Arks for non-humans, with each having its "Pathfinder".
The other "Mass Effect: Andromeda" video also seems to indicate that in the next few months the fans will be receiving more video updates on a number of different areas of the game such as the outpost establishment guidelines, ark overviews among others. The footage also teased at the ultimate goal of the Andromeda Initiative, which is to build a new future for humanity, ARSTechnica reported.
