The Nov. 7 edition of WWE Raw saw the five members representing the red brand at WWE Survivor Series, the main pitch of which was how to wear down Braun Strowman. It took the combined efforts of Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns to do that though there were sequences to consider.
An inadvertent double-team by Rollins and Reigns decked Owens who eventually won the match in a strange kind of way. With Y2J out for the count, Owens fell on top of his alleged best friend courtesy of a “Superman punch” from Reigns. Rollins was responsible for Jericho being out thanks to a power-bomb over Strowman, WWE.com reported.
For WWE fans, the sequence is far from seeing the “Shield” reunion that most had in mind. It was more of a scripted and accidental turn of events with the Rollins and Reigns more interested in taking out their respective foes.
At Survivor Series, expect most to keep a close eye on the two once more. They could function as a unit as they try to monitor what Owens, Jericho or even Strowman could pull off in the marquee card.
Like team SmackDown, there is no denying that there are a lot of loose ends on the team compositions. For team blue, there is the rivalry between champion AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose while the new-found relationship of Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt is still questionable. But with Shane McMahon around, there will be someone to overlook the SmackDown five.
Sadly, that is not the case on team Raw with the obvious rifts being carried on. No one technically trusts each other on team Red and short-time alliances will occur, Forbes reported. Rollins and Reigns will likely try to make it work. But what if it comes to appoint where they have to handle another former “Shield” member in Dean Ambrose?
There is a chance that the three (Rollins, Reigns, and Ambrose) could be the together in the ring simultaneously. As far as a “Shield” reunion is concerned, that may be the closest that anyone gets to see.
