Set photos from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot debuted yesterday through the Daily Mail.
The set took place on the streets of New York where actors Jeremy Howard, Noel Fisher and Pete Ploszek donned motion capture suits (shell included) and helmets along with chains on both hands and feet.
This falls in lines with reports that the film will use a mixture of live and digital actors like Advatar and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Details setting each turtle apart where colored armbands with Fisher playing Michelangelo, Ploszek taking lead as Leonardo and Howard giving life to Donatello. Alan Ritchardson will portray fourth Turtle Raphael but was missing from Friday's shoot.
From the look of the photos, it appears that the scene will have three of the Turtles involving themselves in a fight scene which begins or ends with transportation in a van by foot soldiers.
Shots were also released of Megan Fox's April O' Neill who was caught sporting the character's iconic yellow leather jacket while riding a bicycle.
TheTMNT reboot will be directed by Jonatan Lieberman(Battle: Los Angeles and Wrath of the Titans) along with being co-produced by Nickelodeon Movies and Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes. Distribution will be handled by Paramount Pictures.
Scripting for this new film rendition of the Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird created series has been rocky following Nickelodeon's purchase of the franchise in 2009. This included controversial plots making the Turtles aliens from outer space and one that featured the Turtles being from another dimension. Eastman spoke with Comic Book Resources about his thoughts on the reboot.
"I talked to [producer] Scott Mednick yesterday, and he's seen the most recent 50 [script] pages and said it's as good as the last version -- they've really knocked it out of the park," Eastman said. "I've seen a chunk of it, and it's going to be a great movie, despite what everybody thinks."Budgeted around $120 million, TMNT is expected to have a summer 2014 release.
