A sequel for "Doctor Strange" is still uncertain. The fans cannot take it from the words of Marvel Studios because, basically, there are none yet.
"Doctor Strange" was a huge success. In a previous report by IGN, "Doctor Strange" made $85 million domestically in its premiere weekend. As for the worldwide statistics, it earned roughly $332 million. A sequel is not far from happening especially when the first installment was a blockbuster.

In an interview with Scott Derrickson, director of "Doctor Strange," he said that Stephen Strange almost went up against another of one of his iconic early foes. This iconic early foe that Scott Derrickson is pertaining to is Nightmare. In the first outing of Stephen Strange in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), its director made an interesting reveal that it could have been Stephen Strange going against Nightmare instead of the dread Dormammu.
Speaking of villains, the fans of "Doctor Strange" has already started talking about their expectations for the "Doctor Strange" sequel. They have shared that they want to see Stephen Strange to fight demon gods, evil deities, and supernatural creatures that he has battled with in the Marvel comics.
Some of the Lovecraftian characters that the fans would love to see in a possible sequel for "Doctor Strange" includes Null the Living Darkness, Set, Satannish, and Shuma-Gorath. These villains that the fans are anticipating are described to have tentacles, limbs, and multiple eyes.
Marvel Studios is yet to announce if there will be a sequel for "Doctor Strange." Considering the success of the first installment, the fans are hopeful that they are not waiting in vain. It is exciting to have their expectations confirmed should a "Doctor Strange" sequel will be pushed through.
