With the upcoming arrival of Sombra, the newest character of the game, the developer announced that there will be more new characters, maps, and mode to the Overwatch updates.
According to the reports, Overwatch designer Scott Mercer and assistant game director Aaron Keller had shed some light on the future of the hit game. They also shared their thoughts on the pressure of maintaining a brand new IP while being able to meet expectations after expectations.
Overwatch's new "Arcade" mode announced at BlizzCon last week, the mode features five ways to play, the "1v1 Mystery Duel", "3v3 Elimination", "6v6 Mystery Heroes", "6v6 No Limits" and "All Brawls." They have some good and bad depend on the player, but these modes will make the players learn and try new things in the game.
The "1v1 Mystery Duel" is set on a new much smaller map called Eco-Point Antarctica. Though it is smaller than other maps, it is still big for a single player.
In the 3v3 "Elimination", when you die, you're dead. You will not revive once after you die and will never support your teammates until the games ends, it is a survival of the strongest game.
The arcade mode's 6v6 "Mystery" hero mode also selects a random hero for the players. You will be switched into another hero whenever you die in the game.
"6v6 No Limits" and "All Brawls", basically, is a Quick Play game. 6v6 battle with no limits on character stacking, and a playlist of popular older Brawl modes and a few new ones, which cycles to a new mode at the end of each round.
The Blizzard's Overwatch game recently revealed the new character Sombra at the opening ceremony of the BlizzCon 2016. It was revealed in the form of a video called 'Infiltration' in which Widowmaker, Reaper, and Sombra infiltrate a facility to take out a Russian VIP.
The Overwatch YouTube channel has also uploaded two videos about the new character, including the story of Sombra's origin and the show off of her gameplay. The revealing of this new character was already rumored months before the announcement.
Overwatch newest character, Sombra, is an offense character with a 3-star difficulty. Armed with a fully-automatic machine pistol with a very large magazine. Her hacking skill is on a very high-level that she can make her enemies' skills stop temporarily. She also has an ability called Opportunist- with this, enemies with less than half their health will be revealed, even through walls.
Sombra was playable at BlizzCon 2016. She will be available in "Overwatch's" Public Test Realm next week.
Though the developers of the Overwatch promise the upcoming updates, characters and maps of the game, no ideas were given on how the future characters look like, what kind of maps will be added and when they will reveal all of these features.
All developers in the gaming industry are innovating their gameplay, characters, and maps by adding some features, skills, weapons, background and twist to intimidate their fans. Same thing that could expect to the Overwatch game, the developer could add and innovate their characters and skills. Things that excite the gamers all over the world.
