Apple recently rolled out the second beta of iOS 10.2 to developers. The iOS 10.2 beta 2 provides a number of features that will complement the adjustments made in the initial beta of the same OS version.
9to5Mac wrote that iOS 10.2 beta 2 was made available on the Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, bringing many new features like three new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus wallpapers, Unicode 9.0 emoji, and more camera features, among others. A free public beta program was also launched for non-developers.
Some of the initial changes found in iOS 10.2 beta 2 include a new widget for Videos app, a new "Press and Hold to Speak" menu below the Home Button Accessibility settings, and a new Preserve Camera setting. There's also a new "Celebration" Messages screen effect, a new headphone icon in status bar for Bluetooth audio devices, which was last seen with the Beats Solo3, and a new "Show Star Ratings" option below Music Settings.
Music directs to relocated shuffle and repeat controls, with a button look. Mac Rumors stated the TV app is currently included on iOS 10.2 beta, with the Videos app still available. The TV app on iOS 10.2 beta 2 was made to serve as a TV guide by Apple to aid users find new content and decide what to watch.
The TV app will be available for iOS devices and Apple TV. It also provides support for Siri Live Tune-In and Single Sign-On, together with a store to buy iTunes content and TV subscriptions and recommendations for new movies and shows to watch.
iOS 10.2 beta also features an early look on the new Single Sign-On feature with a new Settings panel, called TV Provide. The new SOS feature in iOS 10.2 beta 2 will contact emergency services when the power button on the iPhone is pressed five times, similar to the Apple Watch.
The SOS reportedly works in Australia, Canada, Brazil, Belgium, France, China, India, Hong Kong, Japan, Italy, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Spain. SOS settings are in the Settings app below the General section.
Apple is aiming to officially launch several features in iOS 10.2 in December 2016. More updates and details on iOS 10.2 are expected soon.
