Several years have passed but, until now, Valve has not released any statements whether the company is planning to make a "Half Life 3" or not. Valve has remained silent whenever it is asked about "Half Life 3" development. But, there are several rumors, leaks and speculations that claim the game is now in the works secretly.
As previously reported, some players got a hint that might link to "Half Life 3." The players discovered a code that came from a DOTA2 update. The code says HLVR and players got a hint that the secret code might actually mean Half Life Virtual Reality. The upcoming "Half Life 3" might actually have a VR support because of the improving gaming technology nowadays.
The first "Half Life 3" was launched on 1998. According to a report from PCgamesn, there is a huge possibility that Valve might release the game on the year 2018 to celebrate its twentieth anniversary. But if we follow the same logic, it is also possible that the "Half Life 3" would arrive on 2028 also to celebrate the third decade of the main protagonist Gordon Freeman with a third game sequel.
Valve and HTC are already working together with the HTC Vive. The HTC Vive is now used as a Virtual Reality Headset for Steam. Fans are expecting that the "Half Life 3" might also get a virtual reality support as well.
HTC's Chairwoman, Cher Wang, also stated in a report that they are co-operating with "Half Life" but the chairwoman did not specify if it is the "Half Life 3." Because it may took a while for the official release of "Half Life 3," fans expect that it would have amazing features when it arrives.
Some fans say that, because Valve took several years to finish "Half Life 3," it might be playable in all platforms including the latest hybrid console of Nintendo, the Nintendo Switch.
