The upcoming game "Mass Effect Andromeda" is set to provide gamers with a new world to explore, as well as a few interesting gameplay features. Latest news teased of the game's unique "prestige XP" system including its potential launch date.
Bioware game developers have enhanced several gaming elements in the upcoming installment to the hit "Mass Effect" franchise. Titled "Mass Effect Andromeda," the game's multiplayer function will introduce new "prestige" points, interesting micro-transaction features and other bonus items.
In the December issue of Game Informer, as cited by Gamespot, game designer Ian Frazier made mention of a different way that players can level up in "Mass Effect Andromeda's" multiplayer mode. Dubbed as the "prestige" system, game characters can earn prestige XPs aside from the usual XP points
Unlike the regular XP, the prestige XP is given to every character of a specific type. Frazier explained, "All the tanky characters, for instance, might be a group that earn prestige XP together. And there's a different benefit for each type of character."
The Bioware game designer also shared that one of the benefits from the new "prestige" system would be a health perk. Various game characters can enjoy the said benefit even if it was awarded to a specific type.
However, other details of "Mass Effect Andromeda's" new multiplayer "prestige" bonuses were not disclosed. Frazier also did not elaborate on the said new XP system's mechanics.
Apart from the new "prestige XPs," Bioware developers are also planning to introduce micro-transactions to the upcoming game. With the game's multiplayer mode, players will be given the chance to secure card packs. The said packs can be unlocked through usual gameplay with the option to obtain more packs by purchasing in-game currency to buy the said items.
In other news, an Amazon listing may have unveiled "Mass Effect Andromeda's" release date. An online listing that featured an image of an Xbox One Digital Code item featured the date "21-Mar-2106," according to Game Zone. The report highlighted that the year "2016" may have been a typo error but the "21-Mar" date would refer to 2017.
At this time, it is still unclear if the upcoming game will be release on the said date. Bioware has yet to comment on the said news.
"Mass Effect Andromeda" is expected for release in 2017 for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Watch the game's latest trailer below:
