HTC is expected to release HTC 11 sometime next year, and as always, the device has become the subject of rumors and leaks recently. Latest reports suggest that HTC's new offering will be comparable to Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge or the rumored Galaxy S8 Edge, which means that the device could come with a curved edge screen.
The leaks reportedly came from a tipster who posted on Chinese website Weibo. According to the report, HTC 11 will feature a 5.5-inch curved display with 1440 x 2560 pixels - the same numbers as the S7 Edge. This will be a huge improvement of the current HTC 10, which has a Quad HD flat screen display measured at only 5.2 inches.
Moreover, the HTC 11 is also likely to come with a 12-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. In that case, there's no improvement in the main camera for the successor, but definitely a significant bump from HTC 10's 5-megapixel front camera to the rumored eight megapixels. Other rumored specs include a 3,500 mAh battery, a Snapdragon 830 chipset, and an 8 GB RAM.
Although alleged specs for HTC 11 have not been confirmed, it is believed that the device will be considered as the best smartphone for 2017, SoftMobo reported. The Taiwanese consumer electronics firm has produced impressive devices in the past that suit different ranges of budget and it wouldn't be impossible if the upcoming iteration will stand out from among the rest of Android smartphones.
As for the release date, some reports suggested that HTC should introduce the HTC 11 sometime in May 2017 since the current flagship came out in May of this year. However, there is a possibility that the company will also look into the Mobile World Congress in February, to compete with Samsung's future releases. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more updates on HTC!
