It's been a torturous wait for the "Fallout 4" PS4 mods, which was supposed to be out in summer this year. After a series of delays and bringing disappointment to fans, Bethesda has finally brought some good news to PlayStation 4 owners.
In a Twitter post this week, Bethesda confirms that "Fallout 4" PS4 mods will be available this month. Although an exact date wasn't mentioned, it's a relief knowing that the wait could be over so soon.

It should be noted that the "Fallout 4" PS4 mods will come with limitations. For instance, mods for the console will be limited to 1 GB of storage. To compare, rival Xbox One allows mods to take up 5 GB of storage. In addition, usage of external assets are not permitted; only those found within the game are allowed, which means that players can't add new textures and models.
"Fallout 4" PS4 mods are used to create new content and modify existing ones and it's possible with the developer's Creation Kit. This kit was recently updated to support PS4 mods. "We're happy to announce Fallout 4's Creation Kit is updated today to support mods on PS4. Go to your Bethesda.net Launcher to update your Creation Kit," Bethesda announced on its official website. It was also noted that the mods are plugins only and archives are not allowed.
Meanwhile, Bethesda recently released game patch 1.8 for PC. This update for the console version (both Xbox and PS4) is still undergoing certification, but once released, fans can expect the "Fallout 4" PS4 mods with it. Update 1.8 brought fixes to sound issues and also addressed minor game crashes and mod issues. The full patch notes can be found here. The game patch is promised to arrive this month and Bethesda should give an announcement soon.
