It has long been rumored that after a couple of featured appearances of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man in a series of blockbuster films, the actor is ready to hang his famous suit up. After Robert Downey Jr. seemingly hinted that he has no plans in reprising his iconic role, it seems like "Iron Man 4" is just going to be everyone's fantasy.

But with "Iron Man" being one of the most in-demand characters of the Avengers, fans are crossing their fingers for Robert Downey Jr. to keep his Iron Man suit for there is no better actor to portray Tony Stark than him. If Robert Downey Jr. will not return as Tony Stark, it is understandable that fans would rather not see the fourth installment than to have another actor play the iconic role.
But after all the whispers and speculations of him not wanting to be Iron Man anymore, Robert Downey Jr. shared he is still willing to return as Tony Stark in "Iron Man 4" while he was promoting "Captain America: Civil War" on Nightline back in April.
"I feel like I can do one more," Robert Downey Jr. said as he stared straight at the camera, making it even more intense on how willing and dedicated he is to his "Iron Man 4" role. Back in 2014, Robert Downey Jr. himself also confirmed that "Iron Man 4" is definitely happening during his guest appearance at the Ellen DeGeneres show.

When the “Finding Dory” star asked the beloved Avenger if there will be an "Iron Man 4," Robert Downey Jr. didn't beat around the bush and firmly said, "yes!" Unfortunately, the 51-year-old actor is also reportedly set to reprise his role in “Sherlock Holmes 3,” leaving fans to wonder how he can manage his schedule to fit all these films.
As for now, it is safe to say that we will still be seeing Robert Downey Jr. in his famous red suit when “Avengers: Infinity Wars Part 1” debuts in 2018 and “Avengers: Infinity War Part 2" releases in 2019.
