Watch Out LoL and DOTA 2: Zynga's Got A MOBA And It's On Mobile

Developer A Bit Lucky says they are working on MOBA (mulitplayer online battle arena) for Zynga, which acquired them recently. The game, Solstice Arena, is going into beta soon and aspiring players can sign up on the web site and is for tablets and smart phones.

While Riot's League of Legends and Valve's DOTA 2 dominate the MOBA market on PC their closest equivalent on mobile is Gameloft's Heroes of Order and Chaos. According to Insidesocialgaming, at least three more MOBAs are coming to the mobile market this year.

A Bit Lucky writes about their game," Our main goal with Solstice Arena is to take gameplay we love from a genre we love and transform it in such a way that allows anyone -- hardcore fans and casual players -- to experience the thrill of Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) gaming right from their mobile devices."

The developer hopes to distinguish their game by making it faster, more social and with permanent hero upgrades. The game will also be free to play. However it won't be pay to win. "Solstice Arena is free to play and fair to play. Above all, we wanted to preserve the core progression of MOBA competition, so players will have to earn those Hero upgrades. Players eager to make their Heroes stand apart can explore the extensive customization options, including skins and armor, available," the company notes.
