Apple has reportedly taken 103.6 percent of the gross from the whole smartphone sales in the third quarter of this year. Despite a drop in the iPhone sales, the tech giant remains largely profitable than other rival smartphone manufacturers like HTC and LG. Given the fact that the smartphone business continues to largely operate at a loss, like Samsung, simply means that the Cupertino-based company can still get profits past the 100 percent mark.
Meantime, Samsung has been profitable as well, but the Korean company captured only 0.9 percent of the gross sales, indicating a drop in the sales for the Q3 2016 due to the Galaxy Note 7 recall. Based on previous reports, the faulty device had to be recalled following complaints of battery explosion, sending out a million replacement handsets, which also overheated again. Having left with little option, the production of the Galaxy Note 7 had to be stopped.
Apple is reported to be responsible for more than 100 percent of the gross sales of smartphones during the fiscal quarter. Also, the company took 90 percent of the profits in the third quarter of 2015. However, the company's profit boost for the current quarter is seen by the others as something not to be taken as a notable achievement. Based on Apple's recent earnings, a revenue drop was recorded for the first time since 2001, which could mean that when competitors lose, or even explode, Apple is expected to win, MacWorld reported.
Meanwhile, Apple is said to be the world's most important company that generates a lot of profit, however, the company's long-term future is rumored to rely on the release of a new product. But Apple Watch is not going to do it as the device has reportedly been selling poorly. Given that, experts believe that Apple will need to have a new platform.
Apple's next massive technology initiative is the augmented reality, which is basically an integration of software in the real world, as hinted by CEO Tim Cook, Business Insider reported. Watch video about Apple iPhone Sales Beat Estimates here:
