While the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are undoubtedly some of the hottest smartphones out in the market right now, their smaller, older sibling, the iPhone SE is still making waves. In 2017 though, what could we expect for this Special Edition lineup? Will iPhone 8 arrive soon?
Apple's 2017 iPhone Lineup
The rumor mill has been filled with a lot of speculations with regards to Apple products. The iPhone devices are perhaps the most iconic devices from the tech giant, so naturally, fans have been anticipating updates even the recent iPhone 7 had just come out. 2017 will mark the iPhone's tenth anniversary of being consistently among the top mobile devices in the world. With this celebration, fans are expecting a lot from the iPhone 8 and the iPhone SE 2017 version.
The iPhone 8 Specs
As for the iPhone 8, the display will receive the most attention. Apple is said to finally jump to OLED technology for the iPhone 8 screen, after utilizing LCD displays for so long. There have also been rumors pointing out that the upcoming device will be supporting a flexible panel, which could mean an edge display similar to Samsung's flagship smartphones.
The iPhone 8 will be incorporating the upcoming A11 chip and an extra gigabyte of RAM for faster performance. This would then be paired up with the iOS 11 for maximum software and hardware optimization.
No iPhone SE 2017?
The iPhone SE lineup, although often overlooked, still packs a punch in proportion to its value. Many experts believe, however, that Apple will not be refreshing the lineup next year. This would be more of a strategic decision as to not steal the thunder from the iPhone 8 lineup.
If and when the next iPhone SE comes out though, it will most likely be packing the features of the iPhone 7 in a smaller footprint, as is the case of the original device. Fans of the smaller mobile phone just have to wait a bit longer as Apple surely has something big in the works to celebrate the iPhone's 10th anniversary.
