iPhone SE News & Update: No Apple Update for Device in March 2017; More Details Here!

This March 2017 sees the first year anniversary of the iPhone SE, the sleek iPhone 5S lookalike with the internals of the iPhone 6. The iPhone SE, which retains Apple's 4-inch form, was created to honor the original design of the iPhone and surprisingly became a hit. The latest news surrounding the iPhone SE is that there's no Apple update for the device in March 2017.

When the iPhone SE turns a year old in March 2017, there won't be any updates for the device, compared to its other counterparts that see a yearly iteration. BGR reports that Apple is looking to keep the iPhone SE as is to focus on the recently released iPhone 7 and 7 Plus instead.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo foresees no Apple update for the device in March 2017 because the company is focusing on maintaining its margins for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Instead, the company is set to prolong the lifetime of iPhone SE. The decision to do so comes about after the company is expecting a gross margin of 38% to 38.5% by December, a decrease from the 39%-40.1% experienced last year, per Apple Insider.

The iPhone SE's success came as a surprise to Apple, which was banking on the popularity of the revamped iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. They did not foresee a number of users who preferred the 4-inch form and classic look. But now that there's no Apple update for the device in March 2017, does this mean that users will finally migrate to the iPhone's newer models?

Just because there's no apple update for the device in March 2017, it doesn't mean that Apple is completely disregarding the iPhone SE. The tech giant may opt to release the update in the middle of the year. Avid users are also excited to know if there will be an iPhone SE 2 in the works. For now, make sure to check back for the latest on the iPhone SE.
