For Apple owners, some may have gotten notifications by now that iOS 10.1.1 is ready for installation. That said, the Cupertino company has once again shown that it is two steps ahead of hacking groups who have yet to come out with a working iOS 10 jailbreaking tool.
Sites claim iOS 10 jailbreak achieved
Word has it that Pangu was able to successfully come up with an untethered iOS 10 jailbreak on an iPhone 6, something that even had a video showing the breakthrough. But as before, all this is useless until the actual crack is made public, Neurogadget reported.
Aside from Pangu’s alleged iOS 10 jailbreak, there are other sites who have come up and claimed to have cracked Apple’s iOS 10 code. This other site however offers a crack with limitations since it only works on a 64-bit system. Furthermore, it requires a lot of links to be clicked, a recourse that brings to mind potential infection and/or malware.
With those two alleged iOS 10 jailbreaks reportedly achieved, releasing them is another agenda. Similar to claimed cracks from the likes of Lucas Todesco in the past, all these are rendered immaterial unless they are made public and tried out by Apple device owners.
iOS 10.1.1 rollout on the clock
If Pangu or any other site does plan to roll out an iOS 10 jailbreak, it needs to be done fast. iOS 10 may have been buggy but iOS 10.1.1 could possibly offer something better. That said, some may apply the latest iOS 10.1.1 update, which will likely render the so-called iOS 10 jailbreak null and void.
If Pangu or any other group fails to release one in the coming weeks, the wait will continue if there is any potential iOS jailbreak coming since iOS 9.3.5. In a previous post, there was that iOS 10 jailbreak from the Unlock-Jailbreak team which was easy and flexible. With Pangu still empty-handed, it could be worth trying.
