Due to creative differences, Gibson has been removed from the show by the producers. In line with that, Gibson filed lawsuit against the series from firing him.
The Gamers Drop reported, that due to this issues the Hotch fans created a protest which spread across social media with a hashtag "NoHatchNoWatch." The protest affected "Criminal Minds" that many of the fans did not watch the series anymore which also causes the series ratings has dropped off, though it does not hold any consequences with the series.
It has already been announced that Gibson will no longer be joining the "Criminal Minds" Season 12. Though it will always be remembered by the fans that Gibson also contributed much on the show's success.

Gibson has an attitude problem regarding "Criminal Minds" writers and producers which made them decide to finally remove him. It has also been reported that Gibson really had attitude problem even in his previous jobs.

Moreover, reports claim that "Criminal Minds" Season 12 will be canceled due to the protest. But the series will still keep running to date producing new stories every week. Reports also claim that Gibson will be coming back though there has been no confirmation about this.
According to reports, fans has been disappointed due to the rescheduling of some of the series in CBS including "Criminal Minds" Season 12. But CBS confirmed that fans will still be able to watch new episodes of the series.
