HTC 11, reportedly in the polishing stage of development, is slated to roll out packed with specs like the Samsung Galaxy phones. The handset will include a Snapdragon 830, dual camera setup and a waterproof chassis, among others. The device is expected to hit the market by mid 2017 with a $900 tag.
The HTC 11 is rumored to feature a 5.5 inch screen with 2,560x1,440 screen resolution. The device may also include a dual edged screen display that was seen in the Galaxy edge handsets. Furthermore, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor is rumored for the HTC 10 predecessor along with 6GB RAM.
HTC 11 is also expected to jump into the Virtual Reality bandwagon as it is also believed to include a VR headset and wireless headphones. The phone's chassis is also believed to be a waterproof aluminum case and go buttonless as well. As for the camera, the HTC 11 will come with a dual cam 12MP and 8MP rear with an 8MP wide-angle front snapper, according to a report.
The HTC 11 is also rumored to forgo the micro USB connector in place of the latest USB Type-C port for faster charging and data speeds. The handset may also come packed with NFC, WiFi via Dual Band technology, Bluetooth v4.3, Direct and GPS. The rumored price is around $900.
Meanwhile, the HTC 11 may still be customized to get the AOSP lock screen using ADB. Once connected to the ADB with all ADB binaries downloaded onto the PC, the HTC drivers for the specific device must be installed. Finally, a command prompt can be issued with the command: adb shell and pm hide com.htc.lockscreen. A 'hidden: true' response reportedly means it was successful and the AOSP lock screen will come out after reboot.
The HTC 11 predecessor was used by XDA-Developers to test this customization. However, it is said to work on most HTC devices. Furthermore, re-enabling the AOSP lock screen is said to come with an added bonus: the ability to double tap the power button to launch the camera.
