Microsoft and 343 Industries' "Halo 5: Guardians" just recently celebrated its anniversary, which is a testament to the continuing growth and strength of the franchise. In order to keep the hype alive, users continue to create a lot of new content coming into the game using the Forge tools, like Halo versions of Quidditch and Star Wars podracing.
But it appears as those "Halo 5: Guardians" users have now taken inspiration from yet another popular video game: "Battlefield 1." Called WWF In The Sky and created by JoeAct20, it's a Slayer variant that allows players to pilot fighter plans and shoot each other down. This mode is called "Air Superiority," and can support 2v2, 4v4, 6v6 and 8v8.
How it works
According to Destructoid, the players seem to be using a reskinned version of a Warthog and a Banshee vehicle from "Halo 5: Guardians" to forge a war plane. Two players then sit in each plane: one flying the Banshee and the other the Warthog as they attempt to shoot each other down--much like the dogfighting featured in "Battlefield 1."
Gamespot noted that the map for "Air Superiority" is expansive and allows players to fly and approach enemies from whichever strategic angle. It also lends an old-timey battle experience to "Halo 5: Guardians" (much like "Battlefield 1") to a hugely futuristic game.
Other new content coming to 'Halo 5: Guardians'
Apart from Forge content, "Halo 5: Guardians" players can also expect a new DLC coming their way. GameNGuide earlier reported that the game is set to introduce a lot of new support and expansions, like maps in the Warzone Firefight rotation and canvasses. Josh Holmes did not give an exact date for these improvements, but promised that they will arrive in the "not-so-distant future."
Excited for the new and improved "Halo 5: Guardians"? Stay tuned for more updates on the game.
