In Our Shared Self website, you can read some of Emma Watson's posts about her thoughts and learning as she read different books and essays about equality. The posts will also provoke your thoughts and empower you. Book posts include "My Life on the Road" by Gloria Steinem, "The Color Purple" by Alice Walker, "Persepolis" by Marjane Satrapi, and "How to Be a Woman" by Caitlin Moran.
This club with currently 150,000 members recommends the civil rights and renowned author Maya Angelou's memoir, "Mom & Me & Mom." It focuses on Vivian Baxter, Angelou's mother, who abandoned her when she was a child. This is the specific book that Emma Watson read and hid on London Underground. 100 copies of this book and all with special notes from the actress were reported by BBC to be left on the London Underground. Picture and video spread online even showed Emma Watson hiding the copies of the book on the tube. Everybody has been challenged to find them.
