As soon as novelist JK Rowling revealed casting actor Johnny Depp in the sequel of "Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them", fans have shown their disappointment. However, the character to be played by the actor has not been indicated yet.
According to Deadline, Johnny Depp is expected to be seen co-starring in the movie along with protagonist Eddie Redmayne, who will again be found playing Newt Scamander. JK Rowling stated that the role to be played by the actor might be a different one from that what fans have usually been seeing him doing. The movie is all set to open on November 18 under the Warner Bros banner.
Though the revelation turned as a surprise for some, few fans were shocked to see the choice of the movie organizers. A wave of anger has been noticed flowing after the announcement. Fans gave criticizing comments on Twitter. Johnny Depp, who had remained the heartthrob of fans sometimes back, fans are not accepting his return and that too in such a prestigious project.
According to the Mirror UK, the reason behind the negative reponse of fans and followers for Johnny Depp is the domestic violence allegations against him. The actor's wife, Amber Heard, claimed that the actor has abused her and their kids during a private plane journey. There are other allegations as well that surround the actor. With such a stained image, the actor has become a doubtful character in the eyes of his fans and critics.
In addition to the already put claims, Johnny Depp-Amber Heard matter keeps on taking ugly turns with every passing day. Hence, the fans keep on reviving the matter. A Twitter user tagged JK Rowling and asked her how the actor can be considered for a role even after being claimed to have domestically violating wife and kids.
It will, however, be interesting to see if the name of Johnny Depp is withdrawn from the project after the controversy or he is given a second chance to clean his image. Meanwhile, the supporters of the actor will wait to see him in "Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them" and evaluate his role in the adventurous fiction authored by JK Rowling.
