The MacBook Pro 2016 was due for a long overdue refresh though Apple fell a bit short to impress its followers. The only new feature was the Touch Bar with the rest allegedly designed to make the latest Apple notebook energy efficient.
Unfortunately some are pointing out several things like the limited 16 GB RAM and the move to go with Skylake processors. The only improvement was that it could last longer at 10 hours of wireless web use though the performance angle of the MacBook Pro 2016 is questionable, Mac Rumors reported.
Could the MacBook Pro 2016 follow the iPhone 8 roadmap?
A safe conclusion for the MacBook Pro 2016 is that Apple has held off the big specs for a major refresh. This brings to mind the iPhone 8 which is believed to be the Cupertino company’s next big ticket in the smartphone segment.
For those who have been following the news, Apple made minimal changes to the iPhone 7/ 7 Plus with the major iterations set for 2017. Could this be the same case for the MacBook Pro?
The only difference is that consumers were already expecting a minimally enhanced iPhone 7. The same cannot be said for the MacBook Pro 2016 mainly because this device was long overdue for a big change. Nevertheless, the two Apple products could be in for a common big change which has to do with the shift to OLED technology.
Future MacBook Pros justifiably thinner, energy efficient with OLED
The word out is that the next MacBook Pro may sport OLED display panels, something Apple is reportedly testing as we speak, ET News reported. This development should be huge only that it will depend on how the displays can factor in with Apple’s notebook line.
MacBook Pros with OLED displays offer a lot of advantages such as making them thinner, energy-efficient and rendering vivid colors relative to LCD panels, BGR reported. If this is indeed the case, then the whole campaign of making future MacBook Pros energy-efficient will make more sense (and hopefully add more RAM for the power most are ranting about.
