"Dope" director Rick Famuyiwa has left Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment's "The Flash" movie. Famuyiwa is now the second director of "The Flash" movie after Seth Grahame-Smith's departure from the movie earlier this year. Warner Bros. is expected to have another director soon.
Sources from Variety said that the creative difference of both Famuyiwa and Warner Bros was the main reason for the departure of the director. Rick Famuyiwa was excited to direct "The Flash" movie as well as working with Ezra Miller.
Famuyiwa tried to pitched a version of the film in line with his "voice, humor and heart" he was disappointed that they couldn't agree creatively on the project. The former "The Flash" director also wished all the best for Warner Bros, DC, Jon Berg, Greoff John, and Ezra Miller in "their journey into the speed force".
"The Flash" movie -- starring Ezra Miller -- was in preproduction and headed toward a March 2017 start date and a release date of March 16, 2018, per The Hollywood Reporter. "The Wonder Woman" film also had similar issues when the director Michelle MacLarn left and was quickly replaced by Patty Jenkins.
"The Flash" movie production and release will be delayed because of the departure of the director Rick Famuyiwa. "Perks of being a Wallflower" star Ezra Miller also has commitments in July 2017.
Aside from "The Flash" movie, Ezra Miller is also a part of the Harry Potter series prequel, "Fantastic Beast and Where To Find Them", which will be released on 18th November this year. "The Flash" movie's Ezra Miller will also reprise his role as Barry Allen in the Justice League Movie alongside Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman and Ray Fisher as The Cyborg.
Game of Throne's Jason Momoa will also appear as Aquaman in the "Justice League" movie (directed by Zack Snyder), which is slated for a November 17, 2017 release date. Warner Bros has yet to comment on the departure of Rick Famuyiwa in "The Flash" movie.
