OnePlus has slowly but surely been making waves in the international mobile world through its premium phones on a mid-range price. Now on its fourth flagship device, what could fans expect on the OnePlus 4?
Rumors suggest that the OnePlus 4 will be coming with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display. The display resolution would then be bumped up to at least Quad HD from the Full HD resolution of the OnePlus 3. This display panel would be ideal for VR usage and viewing, as well as for gaming. It may also come with a Gorilla Glass 5 covering for added protection.
In the design department, OnePlus has been known to up the ante in previous iterations. The OnePlus 3 design was pretty bland though and was met with criticism. The OnePlus 4 is geared to don a more premium build with slimmer overall bezels and a sleeker design.
The OnePlus 4 is also expected to step up its camera game. 21 or 23 megapixels are being predicted for the rear camera, while the selfie snapper may stick to 8 megapixels. For the battery, the OnePlus 4 is expected to pack an upgraded power between 3,500 and 4,000 mAh capacity. The beloved Dash Charge technology will also make a return on the OnePlus 4. Android 7.1 Nougat with the latest Cyanogen OS is also expected to run the device.
The internals of the OnePlus 4 also pack a solid punch. The Snapdragon 830 chipset would be powering the device. This will be clocked at a 3GHz processing speed, or even up to 3.6GHz, and will be paired with an Adreno 620 GPU. This pair of advanced processing technologies would ensure a buttery smooth performance with most, if not all apps.
The OnePlus 4 is also expected to pack at least 8GB of RAM. With the current OnePlus 3 touting 6GB of RAM, it is only logical that this would be upgraded. The internal storage would then be set at 128GB, while expansion is still uncertain.
The OnePlus 4 is expected to get a price tag of $400, much like its previous iterations. It is then geared for a summer 2017 release date.
