A new “Gran Turismo” from developer Polyphony Digital looks likely after a listing showing “Gran Turismo 6” coming to Sony's PlayStation 3 later this year was spotted online.
The listing is on digital retailer Newegg. This latest slip-up comes just after a Sony executive unintentionally revealed the game would be released for the PS3 and but not the PS4 in an interview.
Not much is known about the game. “Gran Turismo 6” is said to have been in development since 2010 and, based on the executive's comments, is likely to come out some time before Feb. 2014.
“Look at the games coming out on the PlayStation 3 like The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, GT6, and then on the third-party side of things another fantastic Assassin’s Creed, GTA,” Denny stated at that time. “It’s important for our content to have that kind of longevity because, as I was saying [about the PS Vita], the games that come through are going to get better and better over time.”
As far as the new listing for “Gran Turismo 6” is concerned, it says that the product is “Discontinued,” which is an unusual thing to say about a title that hasn't been announced.
Apart from the latest leak, CVG’s sources claim the game will be announced in a few weeks. The game will release on the PS3 but the PS4 remains a question mark.
