Val Kilmer was put on spotlight after another Hollywood A-lister Michael Douglas, claimed that the Batman Forever star has been secretly battling oral cancer. Douglas exposed this detail during his recent interview in London.
On Oct. 30, Val Kilmer's friend and colleague Douglas appeared at the Drury Lane Theatre for an on-stage interview with British TV personality Jonathan Ross. The segment was titled "An Evening with Michael Douglas" and the actor shared his experiences in the field of acting, writing and film production.
At one point during the interview, Douglas talked about the filming of the 1996 movie "The Ghost in the Darkness" which he co-starred with Val Kilmer. The 72-year-old actor then revealed that Kilmer is afflicted with oral cancer.
The actor did not directly said it, but he stated that Val Kilmer is dealing with exactly what he had and went on to say that his prayers are with his friend since things are not looking good for him. It can be recalled that Douglas battled stage 4 oral cancer in 2013 and he was able to recover after rigorous treatments.
Incidentally, Val Kilmer already denied that he has cancer in 2015. In January 2015, he was rushed to UCLA Medical Center when his throat bled profusely. Medical officials stated that Kilmer underwent several tests but did not say anything else.
Following his emergency hospitalization, Val Kilmer asked fans not to worry because he is doing good. "Thank you all for your love and support. There's a rumor I'm unwell again and in hospital which is totally untrue," Kilmer wrote on Facebook page on Oct. 15, 2015.
He added that he was checked and medical experts verified that he does not have any kind of tumor or infection. However, four months later, Val Kilmer was photographed with a tracheostomy tube in his neck and the rumors that he is gravely ill resurfaced once again.
Even so, Val Kilmer continued to deny that he is suffering from any life-threatening illness. The Batman star also seems to prove his claims by constantly updating his social networking sites.
Val Kilmer uploads photos, videos or posts about his current projects and everyday activities. To sum it up, whether he is really fighting with cancer or not, Kilmer is the only one who can confirm that.
