Cancellation reports are haunting "Quantico" Season 2 as the show continues to see a drop in ratings. The TV series took TV audiences to a rollercoaster ride with its recent turn of events; however, the Priyanka Chopra-led program failed to boost viewer volumes.
Despite having aired only a few episodes for "Quantico" Season 2, a report denotes that the latest episode saw another drop. Given that ratings are a major gauge for a TV series' future, this could mean that Season 2 would be the end of the line for "Quantico."
"Quantico" was renewed for a second season on March 3, 2015. Subsequently, ABC announced that "Quantico" Season 2 will premiere on September 25, 2016. It can be remembered that lead actress Priyanka Chopra confirmed the start of the filming on July 13.
The first season aired a lot of potential; but for some reason, ABC viewers started to quit on the show halfway through the season. The cause for the drop in ratings in "Quantico" Season 2 has been pointed to its competition with "Sunday Night Football." Meanwhile, the latest episode garnered a 0.7, which is the lowest rating for the show by far.
Series creator Josh Safran previously stated that "Quantico" Season 2 will present more shocking revelations. True to his word, it was recently revealed that Will was also a terrorist, as reported by TV Guide. Safran added that Lydia and Alex will share more screen time for this season.
To recall, the premier episode for "Quantico" Season 2 was lower by almost 50 percent in comparison to Season 1's premiere. The show still has 8 more episodes to go so there might be a chance of redeeming the hearts of ABC viewers. The season finale will then be a determining factor whether the series will be renewed or not.
More twists await solid "Quantico" Season 2 fans on the 6th episode, "Aquiline." Quantico airs Sundays at 10 PM on ABC.
